Started in 1981 by Jeff Timmermans, Timmermans Elevators started as a few bins and a dryer. Jeff ran the elevator until 1989 when his son Andy took over the farm and the elevator. Jeff still remained very much involved by managing most of the office work. Jeff's son-in-law Dan Deloyer partnered with Andy in 1991. The elevator still had only one dump pit and a few bins. They started expanding by adding more storage. Then in 1996 a new dump pit was constructed to accomodate the growing need for fast dumping. Also, a new dryer was added to greatly increase drying capacity.

As the elevator grew with more and more customers a secretary was needed. Janet Hulshof was hired and the new office built in 1997. Again, in 2000, another dump pit was added this time to accomodate the growing number of IP Programs in soybeans and the need for better segregation of clear hilums, non-GMOs and Round-up Ready beans. Since then the storage at the elevator has been expanded with a couple silos and a large bin. During 2004 and 2005 a small soybean cleaning plant was constructed. We now have the capacity to fully clean soybeans and load them on sea containers for overseas shipping.

Over the last few years some storage has been added.  As well, a new cleaner and dryer were constructed in 2007 and a new 20,000 bu/hour dump pit was added in 2008.  Also, in 2008 the scalehouse was renovated, a new probe was added and the yard was reshaped.  This allowed probing to be done separtely from weighing to reduce the bottleneck on the scale.
